I 1000% think Jameis would be better on the field for the Browns rn and I don't think its particularly close. As to what happened, the best answer I have is that maybe his shoulder injuries were worse than we realized, and perhaps not playing football for 2 years straight makes you a lot worse at it!

The layoff didn't impact Joe Montana (yes, I understand I just compared Deshaun Watson to Joe Montana, but it's the only counterpoint I could think of). He sat out for three years and was mostly fine when he came back. I therefore believe the culprit has to be either between the ears, or something else. Maybe you're right that the shoulder is worse than we were told. Regardless, what a disaster this is for Cleveland. Deshaun is really not even workable at this point, and I'm not sure what's taking so long to give Jameis his chance.
